Looking forward to The Red Bull X Fighters

dsc00226I’m back home for a couple of days after a week in London with Pippa. I enjoyed my time there running and swimming in the day while Pippa was at work. We went to the theatre one evening to watch We Will Rock You which was pretty cool. At the weekend we properly got our tourist caps on and visited The Tower of London on Saturday and then Hampton Court on Sunday.

I left London on Monday to fly to Germany for a track day at Nurburgring. I’d never ridden the circuit before so the team got me out there to learn the circuit ahead of the next round of the championship. It was a bit dangerous with the likes of myself, Crutchlow, Sofuolgu and Pitt out there with guys on big touring bikes! Some guys could ride ok but then there were riders lapping 30 seconds slower than us so we’d come upon them so fast that it was scary. Nevertheless I did what I went there to do and that was learn my way around the track.

After the test Simon took me for a lap round the old Nurburgring in the hire car.  That place is just plain crazy, anyone can pay 20 Euros and give it hell for!  I’m convinced a jacked up teenager could arrive in a cop car, put a twenty on the counter and they’d show him the way to the circuit entrance.  Buses and all sorts are on the 20km track along with guys on Fireblades, absolute madness.

The British round of the Red Bull X Fighters is coming up on Saturday so I’ll be back on a tin budgie to London again. I just know the event will be amazing, I’ve been to the X Fighters in Madrid and also in Ireland two years ago but the setting at Battersea Power Station is set to be the best yet. The Tour of Ireland is on this weekend and both Lance Armstrong and Mark Cavendish will be competing so I’d have loved to have been able to go watch but you can’t be two places at once!

Ba bye,

Eugene

I could do with a tour guide, if your free, as were heading to London this weekend too, unfortunately not for the Red Bull event. Might check out that show though. Cheers

What a fuluboas idea. The old #ff thing can be time consuming – and a bit of a political minefield when you don’t want to offend anyone. This is a great alternative.Donna@MummyCentral recently posted..
